In a fortnight, the colonial structure built in 1912, will be razed to the ground to make way for a new modern structure that will mark the new taluk office of Krishnagiri
The taluk office, with its high ceilings and an old world charm nestled behind peepul and neem trees had served as a revenue office during the British rule. It had also served as treasury post independence up to the 1970s says, V. Natarajan, Krishnagiri Tahsildar. “It had functioned as a treasury cum sub-jail, where the deputy tahsildar was also the jail superintendent.” இது ஆங்கிலேயர் ஆட்சியில் கருவூலமாகவும் சப் ஜெயிலாகவும் இருந்தது துணைதாசில்தார் சிறை கண்காணிப்பாளராகவும் இருந்தார் Here, echoing a heritage, an old pulley used as a fan for the colonial official still stands on the high ceiling. A marble plaque that states “from this village 221 men went to the Great War 1914-1919, of these 27 gave up their lives,” is etched commemorating their memory.

In 2013, it was announced that 26 taluk offices in the State will be renovated or restructured based on the age of the buildings. Following this, a revenue department G.O dated February 2014, had ordered for demolishing of government buildings of over 100 years to make way for new structures. The building will be handed over to the PWD for new construction at an estimated cost of Rs.2.32 crore. Until such time, Krishnagiri taluk office will function out of the old Collector’s bungalow, on Bangalore road, opposi  அந்த இடத்தில் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ள புது அலுவலகம்
