கப்பல்வாடியில் உள்ள பெரிய எட்டி மரத்தடியில், சுமார் ஐந்தடி உயரமுள்ள ஒரு பாறை காணப்படுகிறது. அப்பாறையின் முகப்புப் பகுதியில் ஆஞ்சநேயர் சிலை வடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன் உயரம் சுமார் மூன்றரை (3 1/2) அடியாக இருக்கக்கூடும். அதே பாறையில், ஆஞ்சநேயருக்கு அருகிலேயே இரண்டு நடுகற்களும் செதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்டத்திலேயே பாறைகளில் நேரடியாகச் செதுக்கப்பட்ட நடுகற்கள் குறைவு என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. அந்த வகையில், ஆஞ்சநேயர் சிலையோடு அமைந்த இந்த இருவரின் நடுகற்களும் மிகவும் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்தவை. இவற்றின் காலம் 18-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டாக இருக்கலாம் எனக் கருதப்படுகிறது.

இங்குள்ள இரண்டு ஜோடிகளிலுமே, ஆண்கள் கைகளைக் கூப்பி வணங்குவது போலக் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளனர். பெண்கள், 'சதி' என்னும் உடன்கட்டை ஏறியதைக் குறிக்கும் வகையில், ஒரு கையில் மதுக்குடுவையை ஏந்தியபடியும், மற்றொரு கையை மேல்நோக்கி உயர்த்தியபடியும் காட்சிப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

இவர்கள் பெருமாளை மட்டுமன்றி, சிவனையும் வழிபடுபவர்களாக இருந்திருக்கலாம் என்பதைக் குறிக்கும் விதமாக, நடுகற்களுக்கு அருகிலேயே ஒரு நந்தியும் புடைப்புச் சிற்பமாக வடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனவே, இவர்கள் கோயிலுக்குத் தானம் அளித்தவர்களாகவோ அல்லது கோயிலைக் கட்டியவர்களாகவோ இருக்கக்கூடும். தற்போது கூட இப்பாறைக்கு அருகில் பழமையான ஒரு பெருமாள் கோயில் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்டு, பெரிய அளவில் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. அந்தப் பழமையான கோயிலை இவர்கள்தான் கட்டியிருக்கக்கூடும் என்பது இந்த நடுகற்களின் மூலம் தெளிவாகிறது.

Under a large Etti tree in Kappalvadi, there is a rock standing about five feet tall. A sculpture of Lord Anjaneya is carved on the front face of this rock, estimated to be around three and a half (3 1/2) feet in height. On the same rock, right next to the Anjaneya sculpture, two hero stones (Nadukal) are also carved. It is noteworthy that hero stones carved directly onto natural boulders are quite rare in the Krishnagiri district. Therefore, these two hero stones, positioned alongside the Anjaneya sculpture, are highly significant. They are believed to date back to the 18th century.

In both of the depicted couples, the men are shown with their hands folded in reverence. The women are portrayed holding a small flask in one hand and raising their other hand upwards, symbolizing their performance of the 'Sati' (widow immolation) ritual.

A bas-relief sculpture of Nandi is carved right next to the hero stones, suggesting that these individuals were not only devotees of Lord Perumal (Vishnu) but also worshippers of Lord Shiva. Hence, it is highly likely that they were either patrons who made donations to the temple or the original builders of it. Even today, an ancient Perumal temple located near this rock has been renovated and expanded into a larger structure. These hero stones make it evident that these very individuals were likely the ones who built that ancient temple.
